606 Restroom Facility
Running through various and diverse neighborhoods in the city of Chicago, the 606 Chicago Trail becomes a site for people to bike, run or just take morning walks. Concerning the condition of the site, the challenge comes when the path fails to achieve its supposed function because the current design doesn't reach its potential.
The proposed design aims to further develop the site by adding a gathering place; creating a restroom facility will allow for people to feel more comfortable and invited into the trail. Based on the linearity of the trail the design remains within limits by lifting it from the path allowing for more space to be created.
The restroom facility includes six gender inclusive restrooms, lockers, a relaxing area and drinking fountains. The design as well consists of window areas within the space that redirect views to specific places of the city.
