Piazza delle Cure in Florence, Italy is currently a fresh-market during the mornings, and in the afternoon it really has no function. The space has a lot of potential, since a park and other gathering spaces surround it.
The concept starts off a single-unit design for students that through aggregation and arrangement it creates a housing facility. Each unit houses three students, with a kitchen, bathroom and living room spaces. An essential feature is that the design of the units works around sustainability in order to promote it and make the design more efficient.
The goal of this project is to create a place that not only allows for interaction between the students but also invites people to interact with them and their work. Spaces such as galleries, seating, and a kiosk have been included to promote communication.
